A hotel is the simplest choice when you arrive, when plans may change at short notice, or when you are staying only a few weeks. Over a full month, though, nightly rates usually add up to more than a serviced apartment of a similar standard, and you get far less space and no proper kitchen. Serviced apartments
A serviced apartment is a furnished flat run like a small hotel. Furnished leases
A furnished lease is a normal tenancy on a furnished flat. You get more space, often a family-sized home with staff quarters and parking, at a lower monthly cost than a serviced apartment of the same size. In return, you usually pay the utilities yourself and commit for longer. Some landlords accept stays of five or six months, especially if the flat is already furnished for foreign tenants; others insist on a longer lease. For example, one large Gulshan-1 flat we listed required a minimum two-year lease with three months' advance.

When you compare quotes, check what is included. A serviced price that covers utilities, internet and cleaning can work out close to a cheaper furnished lease once you add those bills yourself.
Do shorter stays cost more per month?
Usually, yes. Landlords price in the cost of finding a new tenant, the empty weeks between lets and the extra wear from frequent turnovers. As a rule of thumb, the shorter and more flexible the commitment, the higher the monthly rate, and hotels sit at the top of that scale. Committing to a few more months, or agreeing a fixed end date well in advance, is often the easiest way to secure a better rate. Always agree the price, the term and any notice period in writing.
Why is 5 months to 2 years the sweet spot?
